Traditional Sport of India
Sathi Bachao is a lively traditional tag-style game built around protection, movement, and teamwork. In this variation, a group of defenders moves in a circular formation around one target while a chaser tries to tag the person being protected.

Circle movement and active defense play
Sathi Bachao is a group game in which one player is protected by a moving circle of defenders. The main challenge is to keep the target safe while the chaser looks for an opening to make a tag.
Because the target also moves with the defenders, the game becomes more dynamic than an ordinary tag game. It rewards timing, mutual awareness, and group discipline.
The target stands near the center of the group. The defenders form a protective moving circle, keeping enough spacing to move together while shielding the target.
The defenders and the target move together as one rotating unit. The formation keeps shifting so that the target remains screened from the chaser.
The chaser moves outside the circle and tries to tag the target by using speed, timing, and clever approach. The chaser must look for weak points or moments when the circle is less organized.
The defenders rotate and adjust their positions to block the chaser’s path. They cannot push or grab, but they may use movement and positioning to protect the center effectively.
The target is not passive and must move carefully within the circle. They need to stay close to the center and coordinate with the defenders to avoid exposure.
Each round may be played for a fixed time, such as 2 to 3 minutes. If the chaser tags the target within that time, the chaser wins the round.
If the target remains safe until the round ends, the defenders and target win. Roles are then rotated so that all players get a chance to be target, defender, and chaser.
Sathi Bachao is not only a fun group activity but also a strong symbolic game of protection and collective effort. The rotating formation can represent unity, cooperation, and the idea of defending one another through shared movement.
Its simplicity makes it easy to organize in schools, playgrounds, and community spaces while still offering deep social and physical value.
