Two or more players, or individual play
Gutte is a traditional game usually played by children on a clean flat surface using five similar stones or small triangular cloth bags filled with seeds, rice, or sand. The game tests timing, concentration, dexterity, and rhythm.
One stone is tossed into the air while the player quickly picks up one or more stones from the ground and catches the tossed stone with the same hand. The goal is to complete all required levels in the correct sequence.
Gutte is known by different names in different regions. In Tamil Nadu, similar versions are called Kuzhangal or Anchankal, while related forms are also known in other countries under different local names.
The game belongs to a wide family of traditional toss-and-catch hand games that rely on simple objects and skill rather than equipment or special grounds.
